sorry did I break your concentration somewhere between science and superstition sites to show you strange aeons. Welcome to strange aeons radio mini episode Happy Easter, Eric. Happy Easter. Happy Easter, Vanessa. Happy Easter Easter everybody. Do you guys uh, well, Eric, your people killed Jesus. You guys celebrate? Um, yes. Well as in you guys as in my family. Yeah, I did grow up very Catholic with eight years of Catholic school and my Belmar. So fuck yes, Easter. Easter is a big part of our world. But so then that makes me ask is the is the American Easter Bunny Easter part of your world? Because that doesn't seem like that will fit in with the stream. I will take anything and everything. Absolutely. Are you kidding? We got Naples. We got we'll take it all. Wow. If there's a way we can incorporate it and steal it for our religion. We'll do it. That's right. Yeah, no, we had it. We had a weird thing with Dana and I had a weird thing with Easterns. We got married on April 3. That year was Easter. Getting married on Saturday. And it was so hard to find. Oh. Oh, God about that. Yeah. And it is a weird by the way Easter. It happens not necessarily on the same day every year. As you may have noticed, it is kind of roughly 40 days after lent begins. But it's off of the moon calendar. Somehow. There's like a pole in the pegs. Yeah, very strange the way they work it out. Because when you have to give something up for 40 days, you realize you're giving up for 43 Let me tell you, it's real rough real fast. Well, this isn't a lent episode. Okay, but what did you use me, sir? I gave up pizza. I know. I know. I haven't had pizza in a long time. And 40 days. That is crazy. Yeah, I know. Everyone's really mad at me because they keep ordering pizza. Like I can't eat this. God will smite me. Okay, but my family. You know, we were very generically religious. And like I said, my mom was cool enough to let me decide when I turned 13 whether I wanted to continue going to church, which I did that. But all of our Easter stuff was strictly bunny related. They would do the hiding of the basket. Yeah, the kids would, you know, the parent we had. We were similar to that in pretty nondenominational in most ways, which was often fun growing up in southern Idaho. Yeah. Easter was hey, here's a basket and some chocolate into makes good Easter was how I found out that none of that stuff was real because I decided as a kid to make a basket for my family and I was really excited and then I heard my family walking down the hallway so I hid in the closet and they were holding all the baskets and talking about where to hide them and I was like, no I Easter Barney. Oh, now we got to put a spoiler alert on this life is because all of it's just filled with nothing means anything anymore by heartbroke so far you're looking at a very unusual kind of egg from Cadbury that's only around till easter egg shell is pure rich Cadbury milk chocolate insides it's a sweet creamy yellow yolk surrounded by delicious white filling cream eggs from Cadbury they're the best thing to come along since Easter Bunny and when he's gone they're gone well so we do with these little mini episodes we talked about a an Easter centric movie or something like that and I'm just going to throw out a movie I on ironically love that is critters to directed by Mick Garis it takes place over Easter the the eggs are you know monster eggs and you get an amazing scene with the critters rolling into a gigantic ball and then rolling through town and for some reason I fucking love that movie. I gotta say, I think is better than the first one. Yeah, I think so. I don't think I've seen critters shoot, I think I've only seen the first one. It's fun. Oh, guess what? It's easier. You just put it out. You go it's about you. Um, well, you know what? I'm gonna go with something a little unconventional. But I started a tradition many years ago where I had my family over for Easter. And we were debating about what movie to put on. And I thought, You know what? Well, no one's looking. I'm just gonna put on a little film called The thing and see if anyone notices Oh my and no one did for quite a while. But I will say it is the perfect Easter movie because when they did they were like, what is happening? This movie has every Easter trope it has rising from the dead rebirth. Changing from one thing to another. I mean, come on. What else? It's just like the Jesus story. I get it. Yeah, sure. Just like hiding baskets. This thing hides in your body. Absolutely. Body of Christ more like body of thing. I'm sorry, mom. I'm really sorry. Also, also Harvey's a good film. Okay, I've got a weird one. It's also going to Kelly did a for one of the episodes a more of a short film. Fist of Jesus year love this movie. This is Jesus at his most asked kicking. The fish are used in a very different way than you might think. It it's, it's insane. It's over the top at the same time. It kind of almost feels like I saw a Book of Mormon. And I realized it's incredibly accurate to Mormons. That's why they actually embrace that play after it came out. I think if you're really religious, you might get a kick out of this one because JESUS IS THE ASS kicker. He's the good guy. He's the hero coming out and kicking everybody's butt. Very very violently. Kinda it's a comedy is this made by the same guys that do brutal real brutal relax. Yeah, this was their first they did this first. I believe unfortunately, they tried to kickstart it many years ago and it just didn't. Didn't get enough that they've that we're going to make a feature length version of VISTA Jesus. I would love to see that. How long is this one? Oh, it's probably under 20 minutes. Oh, wow. Yeah, a lot of fun all over YouTube, I think. Yeah. Okay, so there you go. Three more suggestions for your Easter viewing pleasure. We will be back in a couple of short days for a regular episode and if you tuned in and this is your first time listening to us this is not what we sound like on a regular episodes I sound much better. And we talk about different things than this. So we don't talk about movies. No, wait, wait. We don't what am I doing this whole time?
